Up to Canada

  
We stepped outside at the Quilt Museum on Saturday to be greeted by glorious sunshine.  The days had been nothing but dreary clouds forever, so we looked north, saw it was clear and blue and headed to Canada.

Canada Day (and NHL Free Agency Day) was Thursday, so they were in the midst of a long weekend of festivals and celebrations.
We headed for Steveston, BC, a fishing village right on the water just west of Richmond.  It is a beautiful and charming town full of shops, restaurants, coffee houses, restaurants, whale watching tours, restaurants and ice cream shops.

There is a boardwalk with a hint of Jersey Shore feel - but not really.

Did I mention the restaurants?  It was impossible to decide where to eat, but we saw a floating fish and chips place and decided to investigate.

PaJo's is advertised as the best Fish 'N Chips in BC and is one of the last businesses allowed to float among the moored boats in Steveston Harbor.  So we went down ,waited in line and were disappointed to find that they don't accept American debit or credit cards.  We were cashless, so back up to the boardwalk.

We found a wonderful place on the boardwalk to soak up the sun and drink a beer.
We were adorable.

But the best part of Steveston is Fisherman's Wharf.  You walk down a ramp from the boardwalk right into the harbor and stroll along piers next to fishing boats all displaying their catches.
