So we headed down I-5 for the 9:50 PM start of the Skunks vs. Polar Bears contest on Sunday night.
The banners took us right back to our rink days in Wenatchee.
It was difficult to get decent photos due to the location of the "bleachers" (in the corner) and the glass in front of us.
About 10 minutes into the first period, there was a collision in front of us between two opposing players. The Skunk player was injured and appeared to be disoriented. Paramedics were called and a very long delay ensued.
Not much to do but stand around or skate and try to keep the muscles warm.
Hockey is not for the faint of heart.
Shortly after play resumed, (and tragically unphotographed) JEFF READING #24 scored the first goal of the game!!
Polar Bears up 1-0.
Lots of hard work.
And then, at our end of the ice, with the video camera running.........
But was he finished?
No he wasn't! It's a POWER PLAY GOAL!
Isn't it cool that you can hear the crowd in the background?
We were thrilled to have been there and couldn't have asked for more.
Oh yeah, some other guy scored to make the final 4-0, Polar Bears.

So, to summarize, that's seven goals in his last three games.
Totally worth the late night drive back to Mount Vernon.
