My Buddy Joe Is Here

 
Joe Leister and I have been friends since 5th grade.
So.....carry the one and add....that would be 1960.
Joe still lives in PA and every year he takes a road trip for his vacation, exploring a different part of the country each time.

He has never been to the Northwest, so this was the year.
After stops at Mount Rushmore and Glacier National Park, he arrived at 2324 Monica Drive in Mount Vernon, WA.

First thing we did......

was crack open a cold one and sit out in the glorious sunshine.
He could not have picked a better time to come out.  We are having spectacular weather.

At the request of someone close to him, we fed him well and put him down for a good night's sleep.

The next day it was off the Orcas Island to see what we could see.

Of course, the ferry ride is as beautiful as anything around here.

We stopped to eat at a picturesque spot in Eastsound.

And then it was up to the top of Mount Constitution for a "breathtaking view".

We reluctantly headed back down and over to the Orcas Hotel to look around.

And back on the ferry for the ride home.

This full moon was so much more impressive than these photos.....
