Grandpa Meets Wynn

Finally found time to post some of my adventures.

I simply could not wait to meet my grandson.

He is so very cozy and snuggleable (yes, that is a word).
I have never seen a baby eat (nurse) as much as this kid.  There are epic nursing sessions followed by ridiculously long naps.

Those naps are perfect for getting cozy in Grandpa's (or Papa's) lap.
In one case, Oly and I were able to "do science" for a long time while Wynn slept with me.

"Doing Science" consists of mixing different colors of paint in water and examining the resulting color.

Thursday was Candle Making Day at Oly's school.  She was proud to have her Dad and Grandpa there to help with the project.  She introduced her Grandpa to everyone there, who all apparently had heard that I was coming.

The class was divided into two groups for the candle making session.  We walked acroos the play area and into the wood shop, which has it's rules posted for all to see.

Today, the wood shop was transformed into a candle making operation.

The kids were instructed on the three steps to candle making.

WAX - Dip the wick into the hot wax
WATER - Dip the waxy wick into the cool water
WIPE - Wipe the water off with your hand

So we were all set to experiment with different colors on each candle to see what the results were.

Wax.......

Water.....

Wipe...

Of course, Oly wasn't the only one there.....

After the first group finished, we went back to the classroom.  Many of the kids in the second group were without parents or grandparents,  so we were asked to help some of them.

I was lucky to get my new friend Julia to help.

Tim was with Tristen.

After school, we took the candles home and Oly got to light them with Hallie.

And then got to blow them out.....

It was a fun day.  More to come...
